Brenderup Trailers have been in business in Europe since 1953. They offer one- and two-horse bumper-pull trailers that are lightweight and can be pulled with vehicles that have a wheel base of at least 93” and an engine that develops 120 horsepower.
Brenderup trailers are engineered for smaller tow vehicles, but don’t let that make you think that these are small trailers, because they aren’t. In Europe, these trailers are being towed with smaller vehicles - such as Volvos - with two large horses. Although we might think that's crazy, that's truly not the case.
The low tongue weight on these trailers range from 75 pounds to 250 pounds. Here is an example: If the manufacturer of your vehicle states that it can tow 3500 pounds, then typically 10-15% of that is allowable tongue weight. In the example above, that's 350 lbs. The largest Brenderup model - which includes a six foot dressing and tack room - has a tongue weight of only 250 pounds with two horses in it, easily within the capabilities of many vehicles. We won't sell you something that you or your vehicle can't handle.
We personally deliver these trailers to out-of-our area customers, if necessary. We feel that you should completely understand the differences between a Brenderup and a traditional American trailer, even after you've already purchased it. We believe in customer service long after the trailer sale.
